Can somebody point me the correct place to ask about a vacuum cleaner
that I am thinking of buying.

I intend to buy Henry Extra <https://www.myhenry.com/henry-xtra-hvx200>
but I want to know if it can be used without a bag.

My previous cleaner was able to be used without a bag and I used to
clean the cylinder with soap and water once in a while when I feel it
has become dirty. Bags costs money and I don't think money well spent on
cleaning stuff.

I've had both bagged and bagless vacuum cleaners. For small jobs, like
a hand-held unit, bagless is nice, but filthy to clean. For large jobs,
like carpet, I much prefer bagged. Removing and disposing of a bag is
far cleaner than having to remove parts inside the bagless variety to
clean them, and eventually you have to toss the filter even if it is
washable.

When bought in multi-packs, a bag for my bagged Hoover costs $3. For my
bagless vacuum (used for dusting, hard floor, and carpet), a replacement
filter costs $9.50, but they're washable, so reusable; however,
eventually the filter needs to get replaced. I'd say overall that the
bagless vacuum's consumables end up costing the same as the bags for the
bagged vacuum. The bagless is handy for quick cleans, on the stairs, in
the car, and anywhere lightweight and portability are a concern (the
bagless vacuum is cordless).

Consider how often you'll need to replace the filter in the bagless
vacuum, and how often you have to buy a bag. Those replaceable filters
aren't cheap.

I am not familiar with the Henry brand of vacuum. Might be a UK/Europe
thing. From your link, what you're asking about looks like shop vac.
Those have filters, too. In fact, you have to be careful which filter
you use. The coarse grain (loose) filter is when you're vacuuming up a
wet mess. The fine grain (tight) filters is needed for normal
vacuuming; else, you'll be spreading dust out the exhaust, and have an
even worse cleanup job.

You say you prefer a bagless vacuum, but the shop vac you show is
bagged. A 10-pack of bags cost £12.99. You may be able not to use the
bags, but they are recommended for normal use. It's when you're picking
up chunks that the bag isn't needed (there's no dust to pickup), but
there is still a filter around the motor fan.

From what I can tell of the ad, that vacuum requires bags. If just
sucking up water, a filter isn't need, but hopefully there is a ball
float valve that blocks the uptake (to exhause) to prevent water getting
in the fan and possibly into the motor housing, and also not to blast
the intake of water out the exhaust.

I didn't see online manuals for vacuums at the Henry web site. Call
them or use their web contact form to be sure.
