This relates to both ngs.

I'm using win10 Home, fully updated, but also using that program that
makes win10 look like win7 (I forget the name). I've had this setup for
over 2 years with no trouble, but First, a week or two ago I found that
watching videos on FF on Youtube, when I click on the full screen icon
in the bottom right of the video screen, the top goes all the way to the
top but the task bar at the bottom doesn't disappear.

This only happens on the laptop which FTR is win10 Home, not on the
desktop which is win10 Pro.

Then today I had a Zoom session and again the taskbar would not go away.
It hid the bottom of the session so I coudln't turn on my sound or my
picture. With Youtube it was easy to make the window smaller using the
Esc key, but with Zoom, I had to click all over the place to make it
small enough to see the bottom of its window.

When I right-click in empyty spots of the Taskbar and the menu lists
Taskbar Settings, I left-click on that and nothing happens.

I'm also using 7+ Taskbar Tweaker, which recently updated, but it's
screen doesn't say a word about taskbar disappearance. I used to see
that somewhere, I think it was in Taskbar Settings, which as I just
said, I can't get to open.

No speedy answer so I took the subject line to google and got

https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=Can%27t+get+to+full+screen%2C+task+bar+always+shows
Make Sure Auto-Hide feature is On To auto-hide, the taskbar in Windows
10, follow the steps below. Press your Windows key + I together to open
your settings. Next, click Personalization and select Taskbar. Next,
change the option to automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode to
"ON".

First, they moved Taskbar settings to the general Settings area, without
telling me.

AutoHide was off, and I set it on, so maybe it's fixed. Youtube seems
to work, and I'll know about Zoom next time I'm in zoom.

I wonder what turned the setting off. :>)

Has nothing to do with Firefox.

I would immediately go out and buy a lottery ticket.

I can't help feeling your Taskbar Tweaker program, is snickering
in the background.

Maybe it was always off. Turning it on pretty much solved my problem
but not because it's behaving exactly like it used to. I used to have
more than 2 options. One was that the task bar was always there except
certain things made it disappear temporarily. They were all in Taskbar
Settings, which I think I said I couldn't open up anymore. Aha, now it
works, though it goes to some page in the Settings (makes sense but
they used to have the settings spread out, with separate partial screens
for different things. I liked that better.)

Maybe. I updated it fairly recently and maybe that's what started this.
But I like it because it solved my grouping problem (Firefox was showing
as only one rectangle, which would expand when I put the cursor on it, I
didn't like that.) It also, unless I'm thinking of the other big tweaker
program, lets me display seconds in the systray time.

You shouldn't use third party "Taskbar tweakers".

Windows 11 doesn't allow me to expand the taskbar to more than one line.
Just like you, I used some online tweakers to modify the behaviour of
the taskbar. The tweaking allowed me to expand the taskbar to more than
one line, but messed up other things. Finally I gave up and removed all
those tweaks.
