Some type of SMC-Bus chip. You can detect lots of those (mainly temp
sensors, fan-rpm sensors etc) with lm_sensors from linux property.
Problem is, apple does not tell what kind of sensors is present
additionally. Basically all mainbaords, apple or otherwise, have those
sensors and also id info, stacked away in chips connected to the
SMC-bus, which is just some type of I2C-bus

The adapter arrived today and I can indeed read the mac drive from my
Linux system.

The drive is NOT encrypted, but it is journaled, so Linux will not allow
me to delete or rename .AppleSetupDone

I will have to put the drive in another Mac to turn off journalling > I
will not be able to to so from Linux.

Don't have time to do that now...but am not giving up yet.

Though I could not delete applesetupdone from Linux, I just connected
the drive to one of my older Macs using an ssd to USB adapter and from
MC, deleted the file.

I was finally able to setup a new administrative account.

Whew, I think this was one of the toughest jobs I've had other than
maybe repairing the PCB on a dead HD.

Perhaps the best part is that most here said I could not do it.

That was exactly the challenge I needed .

Carroll’s logic is still flawed. Say there are 100 accusations. Say you

Carroll is good at that: changing the focus from the poor behavior of
