recently I am trying, unsuccessfully, to install in an
Android VM, from google app store (login fulfilled), the
HO.MOBILE app to manage credit, traffic, and so.

Do you happen to know any such android version suitable for
virtual box ?

Or maybe better : is it there some smartphone basic emulator
to install android onto, and later emulate a phone ?

P.S.
The web account of Ho Mobile, i discovered later, just has
the needed functionality, so I no longer strictly need the
aforesaid stuff ... but as general purpose curiosity, yes,
I'd be intrested in experimenting on emulators or VMs

I damn HATE, LOATHE, DETEST, Android and tablet interface.
Really can't stand not having a right click, a mouse rolling
wheel and so. How can everybody out there endure this ?

There's Android-x86, though perhaps Apps won't run on the x86
architecture. I've hardly ever used Android so I have no idea:

I tried to install that in my Android x86 VirtualBox machine, but it
doesn't seem to be compatible.

There is an Android Emulator[1] based on QEMU, but you need to install
the Android SDK to use it.

AFAIK the only version available for x86 is Android-x86, which is
LineageOS built for the x86 and x86_64 architecture. It doesn't have the
full Play Store, but it has quite a few apps.

I tried to install the ISO for x64 processors.
But the system shows only a text prompt. What am I supposed
to enter there ? I did not modify any setting or else. The
GUI does not start automatically ? I'm perplexed.

Looking at https://www.android-x86.org/documentation/virtualbox.html,
you need to choose VBoxVGA for graphics. I would recommend you to change
the default, and give the VM more processors and memory.

oh, I see !!! many tnx for advice. Actually I performed the
reconfig badly, selecting VBoxSVGA, but it nevertheless
worked to load the GUI.
Now I try and see if I am able to config the WiFi

Should anybody be intrested in HO.MOBILE APP (the low cost
virtual operator of Vodafone), well, it is not possible to
even install it under Lineage or android-x86 (64 bit version).
The app itself does not show up in searches from Google Play
Store or Appstore.
And if one manually enters the direct link in chrome, the
app has installer has the install button grayed and does not
list any "supported" platform.
To me seems more of a crapp than an app :D
but setting the compatible virtual graphic card solved
indeed the issue of the textual login at boot.
