You need ViewXLS 0.23B by Anton Reiser which will load XLSX files and
display them with restrictions.

You can then save as TSV,CSV or Draw file format out of it.

Interesting...

I can get 'name/xls' files to display in ViewXLS 0.23B but I've not been
able (Ever) to get a 'name/xlsx' file to view.

Hi Dave,

It does say it doesn't work on all and in particular multi-sheet ones.

Also make sure your Mimemap is set up correctly.

Tim Hill's version covers this off for XLSX files which should have a type
&AF7.

Also make sure you have the latest version as there were some changes
made.

Also you don't say which version of RISC OS you are running but I suspect
it is under VRPC, so perhaps that is an issue?

Finally have you reported/sent an example file that doesn't work to Anton?

Take care.

It is a very simple and very small sheet of 8 cells.

I've switched it on and added AF7

The Tim Hill MimeMap file is 21/03/21
The ViewXLS is version is 0.23b (17/03/2020) AFAIK the latest availiable.

VRPC-DL and RISC OS 6.20

RPCEmu 0.9.3 and RISC OS 5.28

OK , There is a typo ,in the !Run file with in it..

It says:

Set File$Type_BA6 MSExcel
Set File$Type_BA7 MSExcelX

When it should be:

Set File$Type_BA6 MSExcel
Set File$Type_A7F MSExcelX

So try amending the Run file, save it, reboot and try again.

Well there is something as even if it is a simple file it should work work
so may be as aan off chance I'd let Anton know and also include the
versions of OS/Systems you have tried it on.

Take care.

Aha! that sorted it... :-)

Took a closer look at the !Run file and noticed it has a second reference
to BA7

Set Alias$@RunType_BA6 Run <ViewXLS$Dir>.!Run %%*0
Set Alias$@RunType_BA7 Run <ViewXLS$Dir>.!Run %%*0

Is that correct or should it also be changed?

Thanks
