Last Friday I had a few free hours on my hands, so (amongst
other things) I popped into the local Barnes & Noble. To my
surprise, the new Murderbot was sitting there - surprise
because I thought it wasn't supposed to be released until today.

Also sitting on the shelvers were the new Cinder Spires
book by Butcher (The Olympian Affair) and the new
Imperial Radch book by Leckie (Translation State). I'd
lost track of the release dates for all of those, so I was
glad to see them.

I also saw "The Way Home" by Beagle, which is comprised
of two novellas from the world of The Last Unicorn. Does
anyone know anything about this, or maybe have read it?

Tony

reading _The Olympian Affair_ now. Be aware it had an immediate
prequel novella "Warriorborn". So far TOA tells you what you need
to know from WB, but I found it enjoyable in its own right.

Nothing to say about it; I'm just surprised to hear that

Having wasted an unfortunate fraction of his remaing life clawing
his IP and business affairs out of Connor "Freff" Cochran's hands.

One of the knock-on effects is a dirth of Pangborn material, as
Beagle is Pangborn's literary executor.

There have been complications -- see

especially excerpts from Alameda County Superior Court Judge
Michael M. Markman’s decision.

[Hal Heydt]
He's reasonably hale. He'll be going to LosCon next week and
plans to go to Glasgow for WorldCon next year. My daughter works
for his lawyer and is his desgnated travel escort. She also runs
grocery errands for him and untangles things he messes up on his
computer.

Nov. 13 I think. I have the e-book on reserve at the library, and when
I'd look at my holds I'd see the release date.

It's quite popular at the library, so I won't get a copy for a few
weeks yet.
