The description says:

HP-UX? definitely not...

and

for 500W power supplies?

Reading this on a computer museum's site is a bit strange.

Hans.

True, but as these were designed by DEC, built by Compaq, and then sold by HP,
and was running VMS, it is an understandable mistake by the original poster..
No doubt Tru64 5.1 would work, as would some Linux distributions

I have used similar sized Compaq/HP machines and they came with 15A
power leads with the larger plug size (in .au) so this really means that
they need a computer-room environment (they can be loud as well)
When fully loaded with maximum RAM, disks and all PCI slots used,
the power consumption is a lot more than the minimum configuration.
In the DS25 you need 3 power supplies when it has 8GB of RAM

It was on the forum page of the site, so not so strange.
Anyway, I have learned that the machine has a proud new owner

Good to hear - that's more important than the technical details :-)

Hans.
