Two completely different buyer mindsets.

First off, you have to understand that people who buy the iPhone are like
people who buy a fancy car just because they feel it's fancy to others.

They have no other reason for buying the phone except by Apple's ads.
They don't know anything about the phone - they don't care about the phone.

They only care about style.

Nothing wrong with that - but they almost never know anything about it
because they bought it because of an advertisement that it was Red or
Yellow. If you don't believe me, look at how Apple advertises it.

Apple makes a big deal of the color of the phone.
As if that matters.

And it does.
To most Apple buyers.

Otherwise Apple wouldn't be able to charge more for a red iPhone.

That is the typical Apple buyer.
People who buy Android are NOT buying anywhere near that way.

For example, they don't care what colors the phone is, while the color is
the most important thing to Apple owners if you look at Apple ads lately.

> They buy their devices based on price,
> recommendations, and what they perceive what is best, from what they have been
> told or read, Most iPhone users are the same.

Nope. Android owners buy on price performance metrics.
Apple owners do not because Apple iPhones can't meet any common performance
metric when you compare prices.

For example, take the fact that the iPhone can't run thousands upon
thousands upon thousands upon thousands of apps that Android easily runs.

The battery sucks on all iPhones.
Apple can't even figure out how to integrate the modem, which every other
major Android manufacture figured out how to do many years ago already.

Apple is extremely far behind in the performance curve.
And always was.

There's no performance on an iPhone.
Just price.

Completely different kind of buyers.

> You delude yourself into
> thinking that most of the rest of the world is as interested in technology as
> the people who post here.

People who buy the iPhone buy it for the color.
If not the color of the phone case, then the colors of the bubbles.

If you don't believe that, then look at Apple's own advertisements.
They even charge more for a red phone.

And they tell you the biggest thing to happen to the iPhone 14 is yellow.

Nobody on Android buys their phone that way.
It's a completely different type of buyer.

> I have worked in a mixed environment for 40 years

Apple is simply copying what every other operating system has always done.
Patch a bug as fast as possible.

Instead of taking three to six months to build & test a single-slab iOS.
This is a good thing, whether or not you iMorons even know how it works.

What's no longer amazing, actually, is how little you iKooks know of Apple.

I don't know if my car is "fancy" or not...

(2012 BMW 135i)

....but I like it because of what it DOES...

....not because of anything anyone else feels about it.

Same as my last car: a 1990 Mazda Miata.

Most people who buy smartphones know next to nothing about them.

That's AS IT SHOULD BE.

Sorry, but that doesn't follow.

Apple makes a deal of colour in the middle of a product cycle.

Nope.

Apple DOESN'T charge more for "(PRODUCT)RED" iPhones, putz.

Most normal consumers care about the colour of the products they purchase.

No Android manufacturer figured that out.

They bought a chip to do it...

....just as Apple did.

iPhones absolutely kill on performance benefits.

I had to take my maroon colored car to the body shop for some repairs.
All the estimates I got made mention that the colors red and pearl
white cost more. Something about that red pigment that makes it more
expensive than other colors.

Utter rubbish. Just look at the prices for the 13/14 mini/base/pro; they're
exactly the same regardless of colour. This isn't new either; my previous
iphone was a red one.

Then why is the Pixel 7a available in four colours and the Galaxy S23 Ultra
in *eight*?

Android buyers aren't really colourblind, are they?

Like I said, you iMorons don't know a single thing about what Apple does.

While the main point is that Apple makes a big deal about the mere
meaningless RED or YELLOW color of the iPhone because extremely many Apple
customers care more about the color than anything else in the world.

Apple marketing isn't stupid.

Apple wouldn't charge more for a red phone if they didn't know people cared
more about the color of the phone than anything else about that same phone.

If you wanted RED when it first came out, you couldn't buy anything but the
more expensive models - which cost you extra to get that RED! iPhone.

But even so, the fact that Apple makes such a huge deal about something as
completely meaningless as the color of a phone, is what's important here.

You'll have to pay at least $100 more for the red iPhone 7
https://www.businessinsider.com/apple-red-iphone-7-price-2017-3

"Apple announced a new red iPhone 7 with a matte metallic texture on
Tuesday, and it looks gorgeous.

Apple announced a new red iPhone 7 with a matte metallic texture on
Tuesday, and it looks gorgeous.

My colleague Rob Price thinks it's exactly the kind of break we need from
the monotonous metal body, available in silver/gold/black and glass designs
we've recently seen on many smartphones.

Yet, there's a caveat to breaking away from that monotony, and it takes the
form of a higher price tag.

The Special Edition (Product) RED iPhone 7 starts at $750, and the red
iPhone 7 Plus at $870, both of which are at least $100 more than the base
price of the other iPhone 7 models (with the exception of the jet black
color).

That's because the red iPhone 7 is only available in the pricier 128GB and
256GB options. It's not available in the cheaper 32GB option, which costs
$650 for the iPhone 7 and $770 for the iPhone 7 Plus.

This isn't the first time Apple limited a certain color option to more
expensive iPhone models.

When it released the jet black iPhone 7 last year, arguably the most
desirable new color option at the time, it also announced that it was only
available in the 128GB and 256GB options. That made the Jet Black iPhone 7
inherently more expensive than the other color options, which is still the
case today.

For many, 128GB of storage is overkill, especially when cloud storage and
cloud services are becoming more and more prominent. Think Google Photos
for free unlimited photo storage, or Spotify for music streaming. The need
to store photos and music locally on your phone, two of the biggest storage
hogs you could have on your phone, is diminishing.

At the same time, limiting the most desirable colors, including the red
model, to the more expensive 128GB and 256GB options adds to its Special
Edition vibe.

The red iPhone 7 models will be available to buy on Friday, March 24."

But even so, the fact that Apple makes such a huge deal about something as
completely meaningless as the color of a phone, is what's important here.

What it means is Apple customers tend to be absolutely clueless morons.

The RED phones are a way to donate money to AIDS research.

If you assume that Apple has one of the finest marketing operations in the
world (other than the tobacco and soda companies), then you have to look at
how Apple advertises the iPhone to people who care ONLY about the color.

Apple introduces iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition
https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2018/04/apple-introduces-iphone-8-and-iphone-8-plus-productred-special-edition/

It's not only Apple that makes a huge deal of out the mere color of their
iPhone since news outlets also consider the Apple customer to be stupid.

Apple iPhone 8 RED Official: 1st Photos, Prices And All You Need To Know
http://forbes.com/sites/davidphelan/2018/04/09/apple-iphone-8-productred-official-1st-photos-and-all-you-need-to-know-release-date-price-pictures-photos/

More recently, Apple spent a half a year's work "improving" the iPhone 14.

Hello, yellow! Apple introduces new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus
https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2023/03/hello-yellow-apple-introduces-new-iphone-14-and-iphone-14-plus/
"A beautiful yellow joins the lineup"

If you assume Apple marketing isn't stupid, you're forced to conclude that
Apple marketing rather obviously thinks its own iPhone customer is stupid.

Arlen can't imagine a world where people buy things because they
actually do things they want them to do, because he projects his own
shitty feelings onto everyone else, and his only reason for buying
anything is to feel "superior" to them. 😉 It literally drives him,
which is why he spends literal hours every day insulting and belittling
complete strangers how dare to use Apple products. He's a sad excuse of
a human being.

You've gleefully fallen for bullshit. Apple doesn't charge more for red
products. The reason you gleefully fell for it is because you enjoy
Arlen's trolls.

Idiot that's not charging more for a colour. If it is then Samsung do
exactly same: only some colours are available in the Ultra models.

This was also six years ago. The Red models also include a donation to
charity, which was a factor in buying it last time around.

Showing your vast ignorance about marketing and advertising. You're
harping over a mid-year "booster" campaign to lift sales. The sales
will not be of yellow phones alone - indeed that will be the lesser
portion of the sales.

Advertising is about getting attention to the product line / company.

But of course you obsess over the colour - because that's all you've got.

Don't get mad at me for pointing out Apple thinks its customer is stupid.
Apple (& tobacco & soda) marketing is well known to be the finest around.

They know EXACTLY what drives their customers to buy more of their product.

You whooshed that it was Apple whose advertisements I had pointed out.
https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2018/04/apple-introduces-iphone-8-and-iphone-8-plus-productred-special-edition/

If you don't like that Apple obsesses over color, take it up with them.
https://youtu.be/1S8L7t2tu0U (Hello YELLOW! - ONLY FROM APPLE!!!!!!!)

The fact remains Apple makes a big deal about their RED & YELLOW color.
Which means Apple thinks its customers care greatly only about the color.

If you don't like what Apple thinks of its customers take it up with Apple.

I wouldn't waste energy being mad at you.

Obviously you don't understand marketing and advertising. You obsess
over the colour presented rather than why there was that marketing
campaign. And of course you snip all that out as it distracts from your
core diatribe.

And THAT is what drives Arlen the Androidiot crazy. If Apple was selling
Android phones, Arlen the Androidiot would LOVE Apple.

But Alas, Apple does not sell Windows PCs and Apple does not sell Android
phones. Thus, being a good little troll kiddie, Arlen the Androidiot has
been having a 5 year long public tantrum.
