No. I have tested Agent 6 in Windows 11, downloading new posts in multiple newsgroups with no problem. I do not expect anything different with Agent 8.

I couldnt tell from the original post but then others said a "smart quote" character is what it was not ASCII. It was copied from a web post. Does that mean Agent can't handle it or is there a way to strip those out automatically?

Many thanks for confirming that. For me, turning off 2SV results in the deletion of all the app passwords. It seems we can reduce/prevent that with "remember this device", so it will only nag if and when using a new device. Thanks

Apparently the created app password(s) that had been displayed at https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords are no longer shown there and so I presume they are deleted/revoked upon switching two step verification off.
