This is unfortunate Ron.

Would it not be a good option for next Euroforth,
to first announce the planned date for Euroforth,
then ask potential participants if it clashes somehow,
and then take a decision about the date?

Given that the number of potential participant is limited,
this could be feasible. In general that is not a good idea
to plan conferences.

In the nineties each date of the next Dutch Forth meetings were
fiercely negotiated. I introduced the convention that it is
the second Saturday for each even month. Never looked back.

If such a rigid planning excludes one of the 3 commercial Forth suppliers,
it might be a good idea to be more flexible
to get the additional support, information and feedback from the 3rd Forth supplier.

Surprising would be if Euroforth didn't know who its VIPs were and
hadn't consulted them as to dates beforehand. Those not so forewarned
can work it out from there :)

So you are implying that
either Euroforth has set the date intentionally, so Ron cannot come?
Or that Ron made sure he cannot come?

Either option does not sound realistic to me.

schools restarting after summer holidays and the universities restarting. In
turn, we get cheaper hotels.

With four Jewish new years in a four week period, you will find yourself
blocked every other year. In 2024, Rosh Hashanah is on October 2-4, so
you will probably be safe.

I understand, I was simply pointing out a scheduling issue which makes
it impossible for me to attend though I was inclined to, this year.

I know Stephen better, so I asked him.
But looking at the results I realize, I should not started this question anyway.
Sorry, I had thought it might be helpful, but all of this seems to have been considered by Euroforth.
