Another example of how trolls are easy to spot because they make up false statistics.

Blue collars have been upset since the 1970s over the loss of manufacturing jobs precisely
because they *do* pay well but don't require extensive and costly education.

Some states have recently begun to rewrite their job requirements for many positions to
eliminate college and degree requirements, specifically in order to make high school grad
and GED blue collar workers eligible for better paying state jobs.

Obama and Biden seem to have been the most successful at returning manufacturing jobs to
the US but Republicans won't tell their blue collar base that. Instead they lie and say
only the GOP can protect them.

The fact is, starting with Reagan, the GOP has done their best to bust the unions who were
the ones who got those elevated wages for blue collar workers in the first place, and
export jobs because the corporate manufacturing companies wanted to eliminate those costly
positions.

The Democrats tried in the eighties to set quotas and tariffs on imported Japanese cars in
an effort to save blue collar jobs but Reagan wasn't having any. No quotas and no tariffs
were set and the result was AMC died while Chrysler, GM and Ford saw American market share
collapse. Chrysler was saved from death by Iacocca's implementation of the K platform and
the import of the Simca concept, the minivan.

Today, GM, Ford and Chrysler have a lower combined US market share than GM alone did in
1965. Worse, the big three import parts from abroad for what cars they *do* assemble in
the United States.

Ford, which has the highest domestic content of the three, imports four cylinder engines
from Britain and eastern Europe. Sub-assembly importing; engines, transmissions,
instrument clusters, dash panels, seats and other interior components is common. But as
long as final assembly is done in the US, it counts as domestic manufacture.

Do tell us the defintion of "comparable workers". That sounds a bit
like gibberish. A comparable job would be manufacturing job which is

With the exception of autoworkers I can't think of a well-paying
manufacturing job.
