Lebanon now and the USA is signaling that it might
be OK if Iran had nuclear weapons (they probably
do already - 1940s tech) ... THIS all ought to be
interesting ...

of gaining political office (and apparently
Condi Rice took his advice). More power behind
the throne than sitting upon it. Alas this

lie hook line and sinker and repeated it
so often the Congress fell for it. He lied
us into a needless war.

No, not really. However it was his JOB to
back the C&Cs perspective - something Milley
forgot to do.

He DID have some - and hoped for more - but at
the time his inventory was rather low. Saddams
flunkies dug a hole in the desert and poured
their never-gas into it - and then shot the
helpers so they couldn't talk.

As for "needless" ... no, not really ... but the
aims could have been accomplished in a simpler
manner. Basically since we HAD all those troops
more or less in the general area, well, seemed
like the best time. I think W decided to finish
what Daddy had started.

In any case, the second Iraq war went rather well,
a quick victory. The PROBLEM is the followup was
fer total SHIT. We broke it, and weren't prepared
in the slightest to fix it. This bred more extremists.
It's probably why we got ISIS/ISIL.

BUT I suspect you only want to throw political mud,
not strive for any Truth or Balance or Perspective ...
