Kings and emperors out of power are a sorry. Napoleon in exile on St Helena talked to coffee plants, Orthodox Christian Emperor of Ethiopia Haile Selassie, of the Solomonic Dynasty, Jah Rastafari himself, pottered around in haberdashery shops in the South of England. And then there is Trump.

The question that should most concern Americans who care about democracy is: why isn’t Trump in jail?

Trump’s rap sheet long predates the Capitol siege. It includes alleged abuses of power, obstruction of justice, fraud, tax evasion, Russian money-laundering, election tampering, conflicts of interest, hush-money bribes, assassination – and a lot of lies.

He's been under investigation for years. yet these long-running investigations lack tangible results. It must be a case of...

"When you are president, they let you do it."

Mueller plainly indicated there was a case to answer.
