A 24-year-old employee who was being fired for the manner in
which he allegedly treated a coworker has died following a
workplace altercation.

According to Houston police, Malcolm Bakari McCloud was
confronted about 11:15 p.m. Tuesday by his supervisor and
another employee who claimed McCloud had disrespected him in
front of customers at their workplace, located at 7300 West
Little York.

According to police, when McCloud found out he was being
terminated, he began punching his accuser and threatening to
kill him. As the argument escalated, McCloud allegedly tried to
stab his coworker with a screwdriver. In defense, the coworker
stabbed McCloud with a pocketknife.

McCloud died at the scene.

No charges have been filed, according to Houston police. The
investigation continues.

Have you noticed this sort of thing has escalated
sharply after Covid ? The lockdowns and distancing
and such somehow BROKE the "social contract". Now
nobody puts up with anything - it's like those
Old West movies where people get shot over basically
nothing at all - "He LOOKED at me wrong".

The lockdowns and such prevented deaths from ONE
direction - but it's been kind a "conservation of"
situation ... it's causing deaths and mayhem from
DIFFERENT causes. With a fractured Social Contract,
I'm not sure nations can survive.

In a 2015 shootout in the parking lot of a Waco, Texas,
restaurant, nine people were killed and 20 were injured. After
the gunfight, police arrested 177 bikers, and a grand jury
indicted 155 of them on charges of organized crime.

But no single one will be held to account for the violence,
McLennan County Criminal District Attorney Barry Johnson
announced Tuesday, pointing the finger at his predecessor, who he
said failed to determine the charges in which "the admissible
evidence would support a verdict of guilt beyond a reasonable
doubt."

"I do not believe that it is a proper exercise of my judgment as
District Attorney to proceed with the further prosecution of what
I believe to have been an ill-conceived path that this District
Attorney's Office was set upon almost four years ago by the prior
District Attorney, and I do not believe that path should continue
to be pursued," Johnson said in a statement.
