Ever figure it out? I’ve been using towels & rugs to bend it at least. Can’t find the right tool to easily saw through!!😢

Suckers at the base of a tree that usually does not have them indicates
the tree is stressed. First, remove the stress. For example, if it is
a coast redwood in an area that does not have frequent heavy nighttime
fog, hose it down top to bottom at least once a week. Then, the best
way to remove suckers is to dig down to where they originate and break
them away from the tree.
