The Danish royal is visiting Germany for a four-day state visit
with her son. Merkel rolled out the red carpet for Queen
Margrethe's arrival at the Chancellery. But the royal appeared
taken aback when the German leader offered a fist-bump. Video
shows her raising her hand to her chest apologetically, unwilling
to reciprocate Merkel's unexpected greeting.

Geez ... I guess when you're out you're out ...

Margrethe is an extremely popular/populist monarch,
an always-hip polymath - heavily into the arts and
sciences from a very young age. Sort of a Diana ...
but with probably 90 extra IQ points.

Merkle is a lame duck now - the past, not the future.

Maybe that's what Margrethe was implying ? :-)
