Presley's Colonel Tom used Tom Parker as his stage name, Louis; his real name was something or ever in Dutch [can't recall it right now and too exhausted to look it up], and he had a very shady past, at least according to Albert Goldman's controversial Presley bio.

Thomas Alan Parker was born Andreas Cornelis
van Kuijk in Holland. The name change was
part of his attempt to hide the fact he had
illegally immigrated to the U.S. (yes, we
had them back in the 1930s too). He was
named an honorary Colonel in the Louisiana
State Militia (which wasn't in fact an actual
organized militia so had no real ranks) by
former country singer Jimmie Davis after
Parker helped Davis in his successful
campaign to become governor of Louisiana.

But when I saw the name in the Subject of
the original post I didn't think of the
Colonel but of the Tom Parker who founded
the British studio group Apollo 100 (of
"Joy" fame) and the New London Chorale,
though he became on-topic in 2013.

That was a closely kept secret. It must have been. Nixon wanted Elvis
to do a concert at the White House, but Parker required a fee of
$25,000, which would have been all for him. The White House turned him
down. You'd think that if the White House had known Parker was an
illegal alien, they'd have gone after him.
