Are this newsgroup's rundowns of awards shows'
in-memoriam segments now a thing of the past?

I was the first one to make a prediction list of the upcoming Oscars
show, back (I think) in the 1990s. And even I didn't bother to watch
even that segment this year. We still recap the TCM segment, because
it's put together by people who actually love and care about cinema
and its history, as opposed to the cheap, talentless hacks who put
together the Oscars thing.

I assume the same is true of the Emmys and Grammys, which I haven't
paid attention to in a lot of years.

Nor did I.
When they muted the audience reactions they cut the soul out of
the segment,made it unwatchable.

But no predictions?

I don't watch the Oscars, but if I did, I'm sure I'd have been offended.
