But this much is clear: this latest shot-to-death performer's surely "promising" career is over, even though the late fellow's final club appearance WEEKS AFTER HIS VIOLENT DEMISE certainly made for a happenin' hip-hop happening at the District of Columbia's Club Bliss*.

And the hits just KEEP ON COMIN' !

My quite reasonable (and, not incidentally. true!) answer: well, only on the newsstands and magazine racks. And I gather its last issue was many years if not decades ago. Though yeah, it WAS difficult to finally find a drugstore which carried Playgirl in rather bluenose southwest suburban St. Louis during the 1970s.

Oddly enough, the legendary centerfold issue of Cosmopolitan featuring a crotch-eclipsed* Burt Reynolds was considerably more difficult to find ANYWHERE as a freebie view, even in bookstores. I'm sure that's because it was vastly more publicized throughout the popular culture than Fabian's kinda-sorta-comeback ever was--not because the Reynolds pic was anywhere nearly as explicit as Fabian's pose.

Meanwhile, your writing comes across as being penned by someone who confuses "you're" with "your". Now, for sure, that's an all-too-common textual faux pas which I surely sometimes committed while in elementary school. (And, I shudder to imagine, probably into my middle school years on occasion, too.).

But I shan't expect you to find that calibre of punctuational error in any of my high school or collegiate essays.

Actually, when it came to Playgirl, I not only looked at the photo spreads, but also indeed DID read various parts of the various articles included in those early issues. (At least until some understandably-glowering druggist or sales clerk reminded me that their fine retail establishment wasn't a library.) As you might imagine, I wanted to learn what sorts of nonfictional material and expert advice the editors were directing at 20-, 30- and 40-something women in those days.

(And the St. Louis County Library system sure didn't have a Playgirl subscription, at least back then.)

Serious question, for anybody who might know: The "only for the
articles" thing about Playboy kind of worked, since it was noted for
its good articles (and extraordinary word rate -- say, 50c/wd while
everyone else was paying 6c or so). Did Playgirl ever pay that well?
