Though I never cottoned to the rough-and-tumble cutthroat Raiders image Al Davis always encouraged in word and deed, nonetheless I found the late Lamonica, who expired today in Fresno, thrilling to watch.

In a far more thrilling NFL era, not at all incidentally.
