Tens of thousands of people have been marching in the
Belgian capital, Brussels, to protest against antB-Covid
measures.

Some protesters threw fireworks at police officers, who
intervened with tear gas and water cannon.

Demonstrators are mainly opposed to the use of Covid passes,
which stops the unvaccinated from entering venues such as
restaurants or bars.

This comes after fresh protests in the Netherlands against
new lockdown rules.

On Saturday, people hurled fireworks at police and set fire
to bicycles in The Hague, one night after protests in Rotterdam
turned violent and police fired gunshots.

Thousands of demonstrators also took to the streets in Austria,
Croatia and Italy as anger mounted over new curbs.

Elsewhere I posted a little bit about Catherine The
Great, empress of Russia in the latter 1700s. The
virus of the day was smallpox.

There WAS a crude vax for smallpox back then, but
not Jenners cowpox vaccina. Instead it was a sort
of early 'weakened live virus' vaccine, very early,
how "weak" it was was barely science at all.

Nevertheless she took the vax and had her son vaxxed
as well. Then she schmoozed the other royals into
doing it.

BUT - apparently some of those old monarchs were a lot
smarter than today's politicians - she ENCOURAGED all
Russians to get the vax, let them know she and the
royals had done it - but did NOT try to impose mandates
or to punish the unbelievers. She understood human
psychology and that trying to force some weird medicine
onto the people would lead a huge number to dig in, or
outrightly revolt.
