Are some of the Arab countries who have supported the Palestinians in
the past losing sympathy?
That would be the understatement of the year!

The were quite a few cases in history where the Palestinians presented a
position that generated a general resentment among Arab countries and
such a resentment stuck and grew up to swaying some of them towards the
Palestinian people’s nemesis of choice, Israel.

One case is the almost automatic and wholehearted support the
Palestinians gave Saddam Hussein in his attempted annexation of Kuwait
after conquering it.

The Arabian (the core Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia and the Gulf
states, to differ from Arab) countries, as a whole, were appalled, and
it seemed that some decided to show the Palestinians the back side of
the hand…

In addition, the support Iran is providing the Palestinians with does
not go unnoticed by these same Arabian countries and as a result, they
prefer Israel’s company since apart for their lip-service support of the
“Palestinian cause”, the joint interest in stopping Iran’s nuclear
program is a far more prominent area of cooperation for them.

We can see how Qatar is still financing the Hamas with suitcases of
money (I kid you not) Israel is quite graciously willing to help deliver
to the hands of the Hamas kleptocracy. Considering the fact that the
Hamas is acting in defiance of this support and supporting Iran will
make things harder and harder to continue such a financial support,
especially since this money is used to pay salaries of the Hamas’ hired
thugs and not to help the common people. Sometime in the future, even
this almost last thread of support will break and Qatar will fully join
other Arab countries that would nod their head in sorrow for the
Palestinians, yet do nothing…
