Me, for one. I found many of his comments interesting and constructive
(the repetitive ones less so); when the bad news came I made a donation
in his name to the Ottawa Humane Society - for the aid and comforting of
cats, although I am a Dog Person.

You must be quite patient then, or maybe I want to say, tolerant of the
suffering of other people.

I found Rey's comments about others quite unpleasant and didn't want to
be subjected to that kind of language, regardless of whether I was
personally attacked. Actually, him attacking me didn't faze me much,
because it was so obvious that it was his problem, not mine, I almost
regarded it as a badge of honor to be hated by him.

I had some disagreements with him initially, but after a while I got to
see his positive side.

The big problem was that Rey did not suffer fools gladly, and then (as
now) there were enough fools to make him a lot of enemies.
