I didn't like the prospect of O escaping with a 6, so I tried 8/2* 4/2,
but XG doesn't like my play. Part of the problem is that if O hops out
into the outfield, it's hard for X's back checkers to do anything about
it, since O has a pretty strong prime. Have a look at the variant for
comparison.

By the way, for anyone alert to have noticed---I did not intentionally
post this as a match-play problem. It was my intent to post it as an
unlimited game, but I goofed. Fortunately, 7a7a and unlimited are not
that different from each other.

Another minor problem with your play is you duplicate your threes and fours for spreading out your back checkers and continuing the attack when you can.
