Nobody must shoot nukes because it's for all intents
and purposes the end of the world ... well, of the
human world anyway (bacteria & roaches won't care).
BUT- at the same time - you MUST state your willingness
to go that way in order to maintain deterrence.

In any case, it hasn't been THIS bad since around
the time of Star Wars - and I'd trust a senile
Reagan over a senile Biden.

IMHO, Putin has little to gain by taking Ukraine.
However he DOES have much to gain by convincing
the west that he's GOING TO take Ukraine. It will
spend money it doesn't have, argue and waste what
little unity it has remaining. All Putin has to
do is set up a camp near Ukraine - cheaper than
Star Wars.
