Strangely, I couldn't find any at-length obits. Or book reviews, unfortunately!

Born in Saint Petersburg, he died in Paris.

(with old photo)

The writer Vladimir Maramzin died - one of the main authors of uncensored Leningrad prose, who was part of the "Gorozhane" group with Boris Vakhtin, Vladimir Gubin and Igor Efimov. In the 1970s, Maramzin was one of the compilers of the samizdat collection of works by Joseph Brodsky, for which he was arrested and sentenced to probation; after emigrating, he worked in the magazine "Continent", published the magazine "Echo" (https://imwerden.de/razdel-2018-pics.html), in which he published, in particular, "Juvenile Sea" by Platonov - the most influential prose writer on him. Maramzin’s texts after his emigration were almost never published in Russia – but several of his works can be read in the Journal Hall (for example, the story “The Cat” –

From 1974, in The New York Review, after his arrest, by Russian poet Joseph Brodsky (also a friend of his):

(about his trial in 1975 - he became an exile after that)

(from 2016)

First paragraph:

"A rare chance to meet Vladimir Maramzin, one of the best Russian writers today. He will talk about his life and work and present “The Fame Bearer” the first volume of his new trilogy “The Country Called Emigration”. The book brings together real people (Joseph Brodsky, Vladimir Maksimov, Andrey Sinyavsky, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Oleg Tselkov, and others) and fictitious characters, who represent archetypes of the Russian emigration from the 1960s to the beginning of the 21st century. Maramzin describes their integration into the Western life, their relations with the new Russia, their road to fame or conscious refusal to pursue it..."

And, from Benet's Reader's Encyclopedia:

"...Renowned for his masterful use of Skaz, he is best known for...'The Story of the Marriage of Ivan Petrovich,' 1976, in which the worker Dusya, in desperate need of money, sells herself to Ivan, who then falls in love with her. Another notable work is...'A Slap in the Face,' 1975, a treatment of Soviet bureaucracy."
