Useless info. "Thin layer" would have to be VERY thin
because copper is kind of expensive. And what happens
to thin layers of copper in the real world ? They
CORRODE AWAY really fast. Copper is just too reactive
for this sort of use. Oh, and whatever it touches turns
pea green as soon as the corrosion starts.

And do NOT put copper inside anything intended to
contain foodstuffs, especially if they are rather
acidic or alkaline. You'll poison yourself. The
best known incidents involved copper coffeepots,
which were briefly sold back when coffee first
became popularized and there were probably some
cases involving tea as well. Boil yer water in a
copper kettle if you want - but don't pour in
anything extra in there.

So what's next, recommend painting mercury all over
everything ?

Thinking about it - reactive metals/salts effects on
viruses - maybe CAST IRON would work as well ? Not
poisonous either.
