In an alternate history where MesoAmericans invade and colonize
a primitive Europe, the results would have been FAR more brutal,
so lets not paint this as racist Europeans being predictably evil,
this was simply human nature in action at the time.

I'm not excusing anything, just objecting to the predictable
anti-White/Western tone of the article that ignores historical
context because I'll point out that the Aztecs were also "foreign
colonists", which is why literally every non-Aztec around joined
with Cortes to take them down.

Nothing the Spanish did was off-script for the time period, the
same thing was and had been happening for thousands of years
all over the planet.

It was just humans being humans invading, pillaging and enslaving
their neighbors, something we've been doing since caveman days
and in fact continue to do, albeit more subtly and with technological
gadgets nowadays.

Humans are dicks.

a case of him and the Spaniards luckily being in the right place at the
right time, where he found thousands of Aztec enemies who were
willing to ally with him to take them down.
