Theo Richmond, who has died aged 93, was best known for his internationally acclaimed book Konin: A Quest, a blend of social history, collective biography and personal memoir which was a rewarding but troubled study of Polish-Jewish history. The book, published in 1996, won the Royal Society of Literature Heinemann Award, the Jewish Quarterly-Wingate Prize, and was shortlisted for the Duff Cooper Award and the WH Smith Book of the Year....
