Astronomically-hip folk know this but you may not:

The apparent sun shall tangentially touch The Tropic of Capricorn latitude and begin its return toward the Equator sometime during the minute of 4:47 pm Eastern Time tomorrow, Wednesday, December 21st.

Thus we pass the instanteous Winter Solstice and commence Winter 2022/23 here in the Northern Hemisphere.
