Tom Moran died this morning (January 1), according to a post on the "A Fan Tribute to Philadelphia’s Station of the Stars, WPEN" Facebook page..

Tom was the afternoon drive DJ on WIP in the late seventies and early eighties, and he was one of my favorite jocks. I loved his irreverent, off-kilter sense of humor, which really stood out on what was, frankly, a pretty square middle-of-the-road station. After WIP switched to sports he moved over to WPEN (during its days playing big-band music) and developed a following there too.

Now, let's all sing his theme song, shall we? To the tune of George M. Cohan's "Harrigan":

Double-M-O,

Some people say he sound real British.
Actually he's speaking Yiddish!"
