I have a friend in London, a software professional in the field of
encryption, well known for early work also on Amiga's and the like.

He got COVID in January this year, was hospitalised, got better and
was discharged.

Two weeks later it recurred, and he was hospitalised again and
intubated - as he puts it, "I almost lost my life".

Fickle finger of fate, indeed...
