Bitcoin cash machines ordered to shut down in UK

All UK crypto-currency cash machines (ATMs) are operating
illegally and must be shut down, the Financial Conduct
Authority has announced.

Crypto-ATMs look like regular cash machines and let people
buy crypto-currency, such as Bitcoin, using their bank cards.

But no company offering crypto-currency services in the UK
has a licence to operate a crypto-ATM.

The FCA said all such machines must be shut down or it will
take action.

This is the end of cryptocurrency. They'd been looking
for an excuse - and Russia has provided a big one.

The "cash machines" are just the start, clear and obvious.
The crackdown will rapidly extend to all means of doing
crypto transactions. Expect govt-funded hack attacks on
the networks and servers that power crypto.

Govts HATE any form of currency that's beyond their
tight control. Control of the money means control
of their citizens, or dreadful stinky proletariat
is perhaps more their viewpoint.

The single most impacted though may be Kazakhstan.
Crypto is a HUGE industry there - you can even buy
cargo trailers packed with little computers packed
with GPUs. They come with their own A/C (more like
refrigeration) unit. The electric demand is huge,
but electric is pretty cheap there. And if you can't
afford it, well, just park the trailer in the alley
and tap directly into the transmission wires. They
have kits for that ......

But then the Kazakhstan is buddy-buddy with Russia,
even brought in Russian shock troops to put down
civil disturbances a couple of months ago ...
