It's been years since the proud predecessor of Coca-Cola
as top-selling soda, now languishing in regional obscurity,
was discussed hereon, though I won some as a prize in I think
the first a.o dead pool...but today I happened to find and
buy some at the same Cracker Barrel at which I currently
buy my Hydrox Cookies.

(I had been heading to a Wal-Mart that the manager of my
local Tops grocery store said (per his smartphone) had Moxie,
albeit at an outlandish price, which was next to its sister store
Sam's Club at which I had to pay my monthly credit card bill
and buy some things anyway, but in recent months I have always
stopped at Cracker Barrel for Hydrox on the way to Sam's;
as it turned out,the Wal-Mart did NOT have Moxie and the
Cracker Barrel price (despite their charging much more for
Hydrox than other places that sold it in the past) was much
better than the putative Wal-Mart price).

These are actual Hydrox cookies and not those "Droxies" they foisted on
us some years ago (2008?)

Actually,"Droxies" were perpetrated in 1999 after the Keebler takeover
and died around 2003.
2008 was when Kellogg's (which had bought Keebler) brought back
Hydrox as Hydrox to celebrate the centennial of the brand, but
they stopped making them in 2009 and some years later unwisely
let Leaf Brands know they had no intention of making them again...
so Leaf was able to take the trademark (patents and copyrights
have terms of years, trademarks can last forever BUT you must
"use it or lose it").

Leaf makes old-school Hydrox with no artificial flavors...
https://www.leafbrands.com/catalogItems/index/hydrox
(Note that the package illustrations on the webpage are
older versions than the current ones Amazon and Cracker
Barrel are providing).

FWIW the bottler that Cracker Barrel gets their Moxie from
sells it from their website for even MORE then that outlandish
price supposedly charged by Walmart.

12 oz. bottles $1.79 each at Cracker Barrel or $55 for 12
from Orca Beverage...not a hard choice.
