For my money, EVERY case of suicide is an utterly unspeakable tragedy--not to mention an ATROCITY as well--in ONE psychological and/or sociological sense or another, and most of them indeed, in a VARIETY of mutually-reinforcing contexts.

But this one on Tuesday just seems to have been off the charts. And at 47 !

But at least, thankfully, she had a remarkable 47 years.

Depression returned and in 2017, Armstrong said she felt like "a heap of nothingness" and could not go on living.[3]

That year, she enrolled in a clinical trial at the University of Utah's Neuropsychiatric Institute. Over 10 sessions, she was put into an induced coma for 15 minutes, an action meant to simulate brain death. After the treatment, she felt well enough to resume blogging

Jeanna Giese developed rabies in 2004 and was put into an induced coma.
The goal was to pause the progression of the disease so that her immune
system could react to it. It worked, and after seven days, she was brought
out of the coma, and she eventually recovered. I don't know whether she
suffered any permanent damage, but I do know that she effectively got her
life back.The same treatment has been attempted since, without success.
Giese is the only person who has contracted rabies without a preventative
vaccine and survived.
