Everything old is new again! As a tad, I remember wandering through department stores, among those smartly dressed mannequins, posed in the joy of painted on, frozen smiles... My favorites, were in the "Foundations Dept", where mostly headless, armless, black torsos, displayed girdles, garter belts, with their pert bosoms encased by multiple hooker brassieres... Oh, the thrill of it all! I suspect this is Walmart's retro attempt, to return to that fashionable past....
Their Eastman property will probably feature beefy mannequin gals ready for farm work, clad in snazzy bib overalls, highlighted by embossed sequins, with plunging necklines?

Wikipedia - which is apparently the Gold Standard in here for commonly
understood definitions - says it's "a racial epithet directed towards
white people", although they do pay lip service to "ethnic"....and
even geographic.

If they design them to reflect and attract my Walmart's customers,
they'll be less beef and more fat.

Oh my oh my. Either you self-misinterpreted me, or I was self-unclear.
I was just allegedly self-implying that calling a mannequin a
mannequin - or even a womannequin - could make self-identified woke
persons uncomfortable. And that just reminded me of "manhole covers".
Have we banned that designation and renamed those yet?
