lol I love it. A story for the mathematically retarded. Lemme see: 41% worse off. 16% better. That leaves 43% who stayed the same. Which gives us 59% who are doing pretty damn good. And they don't tell us how much worse off that 41% is. Did they have to keep their car a year longer than they planned? Are they bummed because Netflix is ending password sharing? Did they cancel their trip to Disneyland? Did they have to give up going to Starbucks every day? Did they have to stop buying pillows and sheets from Mike Lindell? He doesn't seem to be suffering. lol

I don't know about anybody else's problems, but the mail is going to
shit here. A few days ago, the mail carrier left new mail in my box,
but also left my outgoing mail in the box, left the flag up, and left
the door open. At least it didn't rain. Not only that, but also a few
days ago, they left a box of Enfamil addressed to Erick Baumbach on
the porch. I don't know who the hell that is, but I hope his baby
hasn't starved to death. I took it back to the post office, and they
were enthusiastically unimpressed.

Oh hell, that ain't nuthin'. I've been trying to buy a plain white shirt for months. The first one was ridiculously too large. The Post Office lost the next one soon after they got it. They only scanned it once and it took everyone a couple of weeks to figure out I wasn't getting that one. I ordered a different shirt from a different company. They shipped it with the most worthless company in North America--DHL. DHL has said they had it out for delivery the last 3 days. Today they said they couldn't deliver it because they had the wrong address. It's the same address I've been using for years, the house is well marked and easy to find. And we aren't getting mail in our mail box because our group of mail boxes were vandalized again soon after they repaired them. It takes the Post Awful at least a month to repair mail boxes you could pry open with a butter knife. Until then we have to go to the Post Office in downtown Tigard to get the mail. That's such a cheerful place. When we are getting mail I probably get other people's mail at least once a month.

Does this make me the RORT champion of suffering? We'll be back in Garibaldi for a few days again soon. My life is so rough.

If you want to be. Self-identification is everyone's right. But you'll
have to buy your own medal.
I repair my own mailbox when it needs it. For short transitory
periods, I self-identify as a mailbox repairman - but I don't advertise.

Self repair isn't an option here. We're part of a group of mailboxes and the Post Office doesn't consider them repaired until they repair them.

I read a lot here about the suffering I'm supposed to be experiencing. My shirt story is about the worst thing that has happened to me since I caught Covid. Before I buy a medal I need to figure out if I deserve it. I have official papers from the government for all of my other medals. I think I had to buy them too.

Please reference any posts that claimed you are suffering… not including
mental deficiencies. You would certainly be financially ignorant if you
have gone through $87 mil you saved on your electric bill.

LOL Since you never read your own posts I have no idea why I would want to reference *ANYTHING* for you. BUT! Since I'm in a good mood I have a hint for you. My shirt is out for delivery again today. It's my blank canvas for a dye sublimation project I hope to get to in March. I already have the shirt for my next project. So, I'm in no rush. If I don't get this one I'll just buy the same shirt from a different company. Sooner or later someone will manage to thread their way through all the suffering around me.

For one example you might try reading your taglines for my secret to happiness.

Tie dye is still a big fad on the coast. You can buy all sorts of tie dye from the shops on the coast. I am really tired of the stereotypical swirl that usually starts with yellow. So I avoid that like the plague. For that sort of thing I use procion dye applied in layers with stencils or natural sponges or soap bubbles. I have a blue shirt I made with stencils that has small black bat silhouettes all over it and sponge dyed shirts that sort of look like they might have been tie dyed. That's all great for natural fibers and I do that outside when we have nice weather.

I've gone a whole crazy step beyond that. Imagine you could put any image your inkjet printer could produce on your clothing. For this you start with man made fibers and you want something white or very light to start with. With my equipment I can print any image I want up to the size around the size of legal paper. A little bit bigger than regular paper. If I had a bigger heat press I could do even bigger images. I have a shirt I made with a black and white image of Alfred E. Newman in the middle of the back and all sorts of random images scattered all over it. It was sort of inspired by the tattooed people I encountered in the Navy. So it has things like blue swallows and battleships and pinup girls and mermaids, with other random images. Because it's a dye it doesn't change the feel of the fabric. I can use this same process to put pictures on coffee mugs, except that I bake them in my oven to transfer the image. The whole trick was made possible by putting sublimation ink in an Epson eco-tank printer. I print out the image and transfer it to my shirts by putting it in a heat press.

The shirt I'm working on now will have Oregon images. I'm planning several big maps of Oregon on the back. I will touch on suffering a bit, because I have some images of Native Americans I'll use and a picture of a wonderfully unconsciously racist sticker I found on the coast. It says, "Tillamook County" "Celebrating 150 years of pioneer spirt" "1853 - 2003". What happened in 1853 was that 28 pioneers had petitioned the territorial government to become a county and their petition was granted. Big surprise, right? Originally it was named Washington county. Two years later the federal government got serious about officially removing the Native Americans from the area. Various amateur and semi-professional groups had already been working on this. They started herding people to a couple of different reservations at gun point. Nobody knows how many people they removed at this point. Probably somewhere around a couple thousand people were from what became Tillamook county after the Tillamook Indians were gone. The shirt that hasn't been delivered yet will be just forest images.

I find having my shirt out useful for the same reason.

I don't think I'm stuck in the tie dye era. Some of my clothing has sort of a tie dyed look to it, and some of it doesn't. There's only so much you can do with a shirt and end up with something that's still comfortable. I'm mostly opposed to straight lines and plain shirts. Straight lines are made by and for machines. I don't think there's a straight line anywhere on my whole body.

And then the worst thing possible happened to my shirt. DHL delivered it--somewhere. Just not here. So the good mood has passed. No more hints for you.

Mood? You're complaining about your mood? How about the mood of the
guy whose Enfamil I got, and he didn't? And BTW FTR, your shirt didn't
show up here. Yet.

Oh, I'm not complaining. I had expected this. I already knew that delivery was likely to be the worst thing that could happen. When I was in AZ a company had overnighted a check to me because there had been a screw up on their end and they wanted to make it right. They used DHL. I found my check in an oversized envelope on the ground by my car. It looked like the driver had thrown it out of his van as he drove by my place. I'm not sure DHL could find GA, but it's nice to know my shirt isn't there.

Speaking of deliveries. I am tracking a package I ordered two weeks ago.
These are the latest tracking data:

Wednesday, February 8
12:15 AM Left the carrier facility - Theodore, AL
1:57 AM Package left Amazon facility - Haslet, TX
4:28 AM Package arrived at Amazon facility - Mobile, AL
6:06 AM Package left an Amazon facility - Mobile, AL
9:23 AM Package arrived at carrier facility - Theodore, AL

In a little over 9 hours it made it from Theodore, AL to Theodore, AL.
With stops between in Haslet, TX and Mobile, AL.

It made it from Theodore, AL to Haslet, TX (about 650+ miles)in about an
hour and forty minutes, including unloading and loading (well over 400
MPH). Even CC&P's wayback machine can't travel that fast. Maybe that leg
was by plane. But even...

Then it made it from Haslet, TX to Mobile, AL in two and one half hours
(again abuut 650 miles). At about 260 mph avg., they must be using
Musk's cyber truck. Then on to Theordore, AL... again. No telling where
it will go from Theodore this time... or how fast it will get there.

Here's one from 2019 (read it from the bottom up). It started at East
Point on Dec 7, which is in Atlanta about 150 miles from here. Took it
6 days to get to me. It got to Eastman the first time on Dec 7 (same
day), but then apparently decided to take a road trip to see what was
happening in Memphis. After some statistically significant rambling
around, it found its way back to Eastman on the 12th, and I got it on
the 13th.
