The documentary then focuses upon protagonist Albert M. Chop,
who is assigned as the public information officer at Wright-Patterson
Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, in the late 1940s. In that position
he is required to answer numerous news media queries about UFO
sightings and what the Air Force knows about them. Although he
is initially portrayed as a UFO debunker, Chop gradually changes
his views as the movie progresses, and he comes to believe that
UFOs are unknown, and possibly extraterrestrial, aircraft. Chop
interviews a German rocket scientist (formerly of Penemunde's
V2 program) working for Americans; the scientist lends credence
to the possibility of UFOs exist.

This is a product of the post-WW2 flying-saucer craze, and
before The Govt closed ranks to declare in one voice that
there were no such things. Chop became a player in Project
Bluebook.

The film is partially dramatizations, but also includes
some actual interviews.

Many of the 'actors' portray themselves. Chop himself
appears in his former role as USAF Public Info Officer.

The main voice in the film, "the reporter" is apparently
played by Stan Gordon. He comes across very Joe Friday
(a role that DID already exist since 1949 - ya didn't
know Joe went back THAT far, did ya ? ).

In any case, UFOs have been part of pop culture - and
military concern - since the 40s. Recent govt data
releases adds a lot of credence to UFOs although the
governments still refuse to make any formal declaration
that they exist and, despite the obvious, are far beyond
any human technology.

Now are there one-eyed brain-sucking green aliens IN
the UFOs ? Maybe not. Even with our current drone tech
we're going to see fewer and fewer human aircraft
pilots, esp in military aircraft. Autonomous drones
could spend centuries, millenia, traveling between
stars, looking for anything interesting.
