Biden's performance has been fine so far helping Ukraine... but I find it LACKING.

He is too preoccupied with setting Pootin off, which signals small cojones rather than caution.

Our defense budget is more than ten times that of Russia.

The nuclear threat is real but history tells us that dictators don't commit suicide unless the enemy is closing in on their bunker. Saddam was armed when we found him, and instead of going out in a blaze of glorious gunfire, he surrendered.

Pootin's military performance so far has been an eye opener, and it suggests that his competence in a nuclear war might be wanting just as much.

People who like Biden more than I do, keep telling me that by limiting Ukraine's firepower, Biden is helping Zelensky not to commit a strategic blunder like Tojo did with Pearl Harbor, which awoke the American giant and rallied the American people to go to town on Japan. Or like Hitler's Operation Barbarossa, which galvanized Russians to undertake their Great Patriotic War. I don't agree.

If Tojo had attacked Pearl Harbor after America had been attacking Japan for a 100+ days, unprovoked, and occupying 20% of the land... a closer analogy... I bet you that the 'day of infamy' refrain would ring far less poetic.

The Russian giant, or bear, is not asleep. It has already devoured a fifth of Ukraine and needs to be stopped forthwith.
The moral high ground is most important. Tojo never had it, Zelensky owns it.

Contrast what Biden is doing, with what Nixon/Kissinger did during the Yom Kippur War of 1973, to help a friend in need. Israel was going down, to the point that Dayan told Prime Minister Meir, that they faced the destruction of the Third Temple, unless they went nuclear. To avoid that Nixon set up an airlift that lasted 32 days, pouring all kinds of arms, even experimental ones, into Israel, so that they could rapidly turn things around and win the war in weeks. See: Operation Nickel Grass. In other words, they _made_sure_ our friends not only didn't lose, but that they won decisively. Such action would later be captured conceptually in The Powell Doctrine.

At best, Biden's aid will produce a stalemate. And this is dead wrong. Each day this war is prolonged, lots of people die and a great amount of economic and cultural infrastructure gets wrecked, and any day now Pootin is going to cause a China Syndrome in the middle of Europe's bread basket. Not to mention the impact the war is having on the world markets, food supply, and GAS PRICES.

Zelensky seems mindful that the two prongs of the war, military and politico-economic need to work in concert, but attacks on military targets on Russian soil should not be forbidden, as Biden demands, because even if that gives a foothold to Pootin's propaganda, his arguments would carry a tacit rebuttal, since HE started the war, and that is no secret, not even in Russia..

Non-military means to stop the war may take so long, if ever, bringing Pootin down that by then all Ukraine can hope for is a Pyrrhic victory.

Trump may be a jerk, but his being POTUS was
sure better for Ukraine that the Democrats have been.

While Clinton was President, Ukraine was pressured
to return all the USSR nuclear weapons.
While Obama was President, Russia just walks in
and takes the very important Crimea and eastern Ukraine.
Now while Biden is in office, Russia is waging war
and taking much more of the Eastern areas.

his supposed good buddy Putin didn’t try anything with Ukraine
(despite the civil war being fought on Russia's border) and only
invaded after Biden got into the White House?

Strange indeed. I consider it Pootin's first big blunder.

We may never know why, but it is clear that when Trump got impeached after Zelensky would not enable his corrupt ways, it would have been the ideal time to invade. Go figure.

This is as much as I want to discuss Trump. The subject of the rest of my post being so much more important.
