Jumalon was killed on Sunday, November 5th, and also used the stage name Johnny Walker.

It was quite an attack. I think every professional broadcaster since Marconi as at least fleetingly imagines dying on the air, but no one would want it to be this way.

Bongbong Marcos insists the guys who killed Jumalon will be caught. More ruthless men, working for who knows who. I'm unfamiliar with Bongbong's policies for the archipeligo these days, and I trust the gunmen weren't in fact working on Bongbong's behalf (and yes, it is fun to type that name).

Meanwhile, quite unlike "How Long is a Chinaman.", this actually IS an Asian question: why is it always The Philippines with a P, but then also always Filipino or Filipina with an F? (Kindly answer in English rather than Tagalog.)

The late muckraking broadcaster was born on Tuesday, August 2, 1966, the day after that hot Monday afternoon Charles Whitman shot up---or down, really--Austin, Texas.
