And it looks like it's totally freaked "Woke" Disney Inc.

Doesn't really hurt my feelings .....

But in the bigger picture, can/should corporations have
no political opinions ?

Well, they CAN ... IF the stockholders go for it.

Of course all the little stockholders, sometimes
even collectively, don't outrank the few major
players. Minority holders also have a history of
not even getting involved in such stuff. So long
as The Company maintains the stock price/dividends
they don't care if it's pro-Ayatollahs or pro-
Klingon or what. This lets the few dictate things.
It's all legal.

So, IMHO, Disney INC *can* have its "Woke" opinions.
It can even try to leverage its position to try and
realize those aims. On the flip, such actions can
indeed have *consequences* - which we're seeing now -
and those are also perfectly legal no matter how
many tears Psaki sheds.

Disney INC was politically "special" at the pleasure
of the state legislature. It was an arrangement that
served at the time. Now it doesn't. This is how
things work - Politics 101.

Will Disney INC throw away its Florida investments just
to spite the state ? IMHO, no. The Disneyworld ensemble
it STILL immensely profitible. Disney would destroy
itself if it shut down those attractions - but it would
in no way destroy Florida, just a fiscal bump. Hey,
sell the land for high-end condos ... leave a little
of the Disney infrastructure standing to justify
the "specialness" and thus the prices.
