Sure wish folks would stop surmising that the ever-smiling POTUS is in the final stage of an endgame. Who's to say he won't make 105, or even beyond?

For my own absolutely-inconsequential part, if I'm still around on Tuesday, October 1, 2024--big if THERE, for sure--I intend to celebrate his centenary. (And I voted against him both in 1976 and 1980.)

The actuarial tables may prevent this and most likely will prevent this. Actuarial tables are most unkind to centenarians. The chance of a centenarian living another year is 1 in 2 or 50%. That is why there are hundreds of thousands of centenarians in the world but only a few hundred super centenarians (over 110). Not surprising since 2^10 is 1,024. As for super centenarians over 120 there has been only one, being Madam Calment who died at age 122. There is only one chance in a million that a centenarian will live to 120 (2^20 = 1 million).

While this is certainly true at 110,
at 100 the odds are somewhat higher.

At 110,the odds of surviving 3 years are about 10%,
while at 100 they are more like twice that.
