Denmark votes to join EU common defense after 30 years of
opting out

Danish voters on Wednesday chose to abandon their country’s
30-year policy of opting out of the European Union's common
defense policy and instead forge closer security ties with
the bloc, another example of European countries seeking
closer links with allies in response to the Russian invasion
of Ukraine.

The referendum is the latest example of European countries
seeking closer defense links with allies in response to Russia’s
invasion. It follows Sweden and Finland’s historic bids to join
NATO, which plans to take up their applications at the end of
the month.

Some 4.2 million Danish voters were eligible to cast ballots
in the referendum.

First Finland, then Sweden, now Denmark. Looks like Putin's
crusade to limit NATO and the EU common defense plan has
backfired badly.

Some of the major EU members yesterday resolved to cut back
on Russian petrochemicals by about 75%. However what they
did NOT answer is how they're actually going to get away
with that. They can import more Norwegian oil and gas, but
only to a POINT ... Norway only has just so much capacity
and it'd take YEARS to up that considerably. The Gretatocracy
also works against Germany - she want's everybody back in
thatch huts, preferably starving to death in droves so
some caterpillars somewhere won't be inconvenienced.

Especially now with Joe, the USA is not in a position to
make up for Russian energy in the EU either. Oh well,
you can put a million hamsters in wheels to make your
factory work .....
