I've got a few plants that grow these "blue" cherry
tomatoes. So, I took one, deseeded it, and separated
all the seeds on a piece of paper to dry, and set it
outside. I forgot it yesterday evening, and when I went
out to get it this morning some animal had removed
every single seed, presumably to eat them. Every
little dot is where a tomato seed used to be. I want to
save seeds to grow them again next year. I've saved
seeds this way before, and never had this happen.

Or... [drum roll].... Birds. Everybody has birds. And most
birds peck at them as to not disturb the paper towel.

You've never seen birds peck at the ground? They have very good
aim and do it quickly while sneaking glances up at the sky for
owls and hawks that may swoop down and eat them.

Before I realized that my ancient waffle iron needs to be unplugged to
regulate the temperature, I very badly burned a waffle... it was
entirely stuck, no easy way to remove it. I put the iron on my back
porch stoop to cool before dealing with it further, and the birds picked
every bit of burn waffle clean. I was not only amazed, but thankful, LOL

Since birds are dinosaurs, I guess I could say,
"A dinosaur ate my tomato seeds." That's not
a sentence you see every day.

Sounds like you really like to tempt fate using those antique kitchen
appliances. I hope you have a fire extinguisher and I'm not talking
about one from 1950.

Do be sure to wash off the waffle iron plates! Birds eat a lot of
different things; they're omnivores.
