beautiful.

i wish i had the brain cell that says take a photo when i see something
cool like that. wasn't long ago i was sitting in a chair outside
drinking tea and watching the critters at the bird feeders and a dragon
fly landed on my leg and sat there for about 10 minutes. not once did my
brain say "hey dumbass, take a photo of it". :sigh:

Thanks! They are interesting flying insects. Like hummingbirds, they
can hover but dragonflies can also fly backwards. Kind of like
helicopters. :) That sort of photo is what you can take with a
Panasomic Lumix camera which did *not* cost $700+ dollars.

I was on a boat trip trying to photograph a pod of dolphins as they
jumped out of the water. Later, I realised what a fool I had been as my
camera has a movie setting:-(

That would have been a cool thing to get a video of, Graham. There are
dolphins in this area but I'm not near the water so I don't see them.

Haha! Jill, there's a 1930's British bi-plane named the DeHavilland Dragonfly and also there is a British helicopter named the Westland Dragonfly.
