"PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A new Chick-fil-A restaurant may be coming to
the site of a current strip club in Portland?s Hazelwood neighborhood.

The proposed Chick-fil-A would be the first inside Portland city limits.

The 0.85-acre site at 9950 SE Stark is currently occupied by The Venue
Gentlemen?s Club. Which was built in 1984, according to city planning
records. The permit description says the current building would be
demolished and a new building housing Chick-fil-A would be put in its
place."
[snip]

"Earlier this month, Portland police said a man was killed in a shooting
outside the club.

Police said Morieo Camel-Harris, 35, of Portland, died at the scene on
April 1. Another person was injured in the shooting and taken to a local
hospital for treatment. Their current condition is not known.

Anyone with information about the shooting should contact Detective
Calvin Goldring at calvin.goldring@police.portlandoregon.gov or
Detective Brad Clifton at brad.clifton@police.portlandoregon.gov and
reference case number 24-79807."

At one time Portland OR probably had more titty bars percapita than
any other city in the United States. Even with this one closing we still
have a lot of titty bars here. I have two fairly new ones in my
neighborhood, and we're getting a new food cart pod nearby. Hey,
progress, or something like that.

Which reminds me. I saw a bunch of cybertrucks on a carrier headed
for the recently completed Tesla dealership nearby. It seems appropriate
that that used to be a Toys R Us store. They're dwarfed by the new
Mercedes shop next door to them, where Orchard Hardware used to be, and
I don't remember who all before them. Intel is spending billions more on
their manufacturing plant in our Silicon Forest, further west from me.
They will probably have that new In N Out burger joint out there in a
couple of years. What a co-inky-dink. Yeah, hard times. It must be hard
times somewhere. Just ask the RORT stooges. lqtm

Depending on who's doing the stripping, I'd rather the strip club. I can
get Chick-fil-A anywhere. Plus I can go to the strip club on Sunday.

Well, look, c'mon man, that's just literally, like, outrageous, you
know?. Are the girls going to be compensated for the loss of their
jobs.........or given jobs at the Chick-fil-A? If not, somebody must
be held accountable at the end of the day going forward? Another
option, you know, is to just put some poles in the Chick-fil-A?

Uh, chill dude. It's all cool. We got jobs for everyone. Even me, if
I was in that sort of silly mood.

Are you sensing a theme here? If you lived here you could watch it
happening. The metropolitan area's center of gravity is slowly shifting
to the west. Our politicians couldn't come up with $8 million to keep
the container shipping facility in Portland open for business. They did
find $15 million to keep the Hops baseball team in Hillsboro.

Hillsboro is out there on the west side of the metropolitan area,
next to Beaverton. Beaverton and Portland are both right next door for
me.

Unless the "girls" are just life support systems for their tits
they should be able to find gainful employment somewhere.

I have no idea. But, hey, In-N-Out burger joints are springing up
around the metropolitan area like mushrooms in Spring.

"In-N-Out takes early steps toward east Vancouver location"

"VANCOUVER, Wash. ? California-based fast food chain In-N-Out has
proposed yet another location in the Portland metro area, this time on
Vancouver's east side.

A spokesperson for the city of Vancouver confirmed that In-N-Out
submitted a commercial development pre-application for 13511 Southeast
3rd Way, at the intersection with Mill Plain Boulevard."
