When they were gone yesterday I set a smart color bulb to "Disco
Party" and put in their driveway light lantern (replacing their
night sensor bulb). But apparently the switch inside was turned
off. No big deal.

I went outside around 8:PM and his partner - who I've never really
spoken to - was just pulling up in his Corvette. On his way
inside he turned on the light switch and sure enough:

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/qRZxVP982i8
(I took that in landscape orientation but Google converted that to
brainless TikTok portrait - bitches!)

So as I suspected I hung around for a few more minutes (they
always take two cars and he stops one more place on the way home),
and the Birthday Boy came home and looked at light (a little too
long) and went inside. I changed the light back to the normal
solid white and a minute later he comes out with his boyfriend
insisting the light was blinking colors. But his boyfriend just
blew him off and went back inside while I turned it back to
throbbing colors. "Look! Look!", he says and then "Arrrrghhhh
....." and then starts back inside in a huff. I came out from the
porch and said, "Happy Birthday!".

He looks over, "Yeah, yeah, I gotta go take care of something..."
and I said, "No. WAIT! STOP!".... Oops. Too late, he went
inside. Uh-oh. I texted him right away, "I'm the one fucking with
your light!". And grabbed the stash of piss peppers and the
bottle of bubbly (my home made ginger beer) and took it over to
the driveway and waited a minute or so, and he comes back out with
his houseboy in semi-tow... And I gave him everything including
the box with his old lightbulb and the new lightbulb instructions.
He was changing out his colored lightbulbs manually almost weekly
prior to this.

Anyway, I had stand back a few feet so he didn't try and hug me.
I don't think his boy toy likes me very much. He thinks I'm trying
to get in on his sugar-daddy action. But honestly, I'd need at
least a upper-range Land Rover for consideration of that (and not
Sheldon's 25-year old "and still a appreciating" model). I
wouldn't be able to get in/out of a Corvette. And his partner
certainly isn't the first one who was jealous because of me. I
hear I'm quite the homo catch, especially when I shave my head
<shrug>.

I wonder how safe it is for men to be openly gay in Texas. Or in East
Liverpool for that matter. Many of those fundamentalist Protestants
wear guns, I bet.

I'm not a fundamentalist religious anything and I don't own a gun but
these openly gay people should just keep it in the bedroom, imo.
Have you ever seen a heterosexual parade?

I'll accept anyone's lifestyle but I don't need to hear about it.
It annoys the hell out of me when they flaunt this stuff in public.

This is the liberal world that you cherish, Bruce.
All the various kinds of mentally ill are now "normal."

Sounds like you want to kill-file/filter/censor real life. That's not real practical. My guess is that it's unconstitutional too.

There is a hell of a difference between a person preferring sex with
people of the same gender and the flamboyant queens who shout out the
gayness with strange clothes and effeminate affectations.

That may be evidenced by the growing trend to be transgender. There are
few things more fucked up that a man going through all the surgery and
hormone therapy to become a woman that has a relationship with a man. It
has to be the ultimate lesbian fetish. They need mental therapy, not
gender reassignment.

All the damned time. Every Memorial Day and Fourth of July.
Every St. Patrick's day. Every Thanksgiving.

Yet they have free speech rights, just like yours.

Awww. Your civil rights do not include the right not to be annoyed.

Homosexuality is not a mental illness. It is a natural variation caused
by genetic and epigenetic factors. Can you prove otherwise?

There is a psychological assessment prior to gender reassignment.

Well, there are the people who have sex
re-assignment surgery, then later on
decide they want to switch back again.

I saw a person interviewed on one those
daytime TV shows once who had done that.

When discussing this over morning coffee
with other colleauges at the office,
someone, not sure if the sequence had been
(XX > XY > XX) or (XY > XX > XY) asked:
"Uhh, which, er what was left"?

My answer: "Not much".

My area news today...
"Well, curing cancer is pretty serious business, and as you can see, you have to dress the part," said Sal Sciandra, Pittston.

And many did dress the part, especially the men participating in this year's Gentlemen's Dash, where nine members of the community stepped up to raise money to support the cure and then race in high heels down South Main Street.

Ok, this was a funny trick to play on the neighbors if true.

When you are an adult, I don't care what you choose to be. They
sometimes start hormone therapy at 14 to 16. Many horny teenagers have
no idea what they really want to be so let them figure it out for
certain first.

Maybe a therapist should have tried counseling them out of the sex
reassignment before they did it. That seems to be an unpopular approach
these days. The PC view is that being trapped in the wrong body is a
source of a lot of psychological issues for these people and their lives
are hell. They end up with various mental problems. I wonder if the have
the chicken and egg thing backwards. Are their lives messed up because
they are men in women's bodies or vice versa, or is their gender
mismatch a product of their mental problems?
>
> I saw a person interviewed on one those

That source itself might lead to questions, especially questions of
credibility. It is certainly possible that the person was a drama queen
who was dying to be on the show. There have been a number of guests who
have been complete hoaxes. Among them was a group of Canadian comedians.
Apparently the story they had was that the babysitter was screwing the
father. There have been a number of repeat guests, each appearance being
infinitely more bizarre than the previous one.

When I retired I made a deal with myself that if I ever found myself
sitting around watching Jerry Springer or his ilk I had to go out and
get a job.

The new thought is that gender is no longer polar or permanent. They
describe it as being fluid. Someone can be totally macho and hetero or
totally feminine and remain that way, or they can be somewhere in
between and may even slide back and forth on the scale.

That certainly seems to reflect reality better than 100% male or
100% female. Not everyone is fluid, but people who aren't should
be able to easily see that some people are.

Behavior and sexual identity aren't tightly coupled, either. My
behavior is virtually indistinguishable from most males. But I'm
definitely female.

I just can't figure out why you care so much what happens in other
people's pants.

I must confess, love the St. Paddys pipebands. Chicago is still chilly in March for kilts. Irish church does it's outdoor social Sunday near September 17, much warmer.

Of course, gays aren't mentally ill. That's bigotry from before WW2.
Having said that, I don't need these parades either. I don't find them
offensive, but I'm not interested. But it's easily solved. I don't go
there.

Everybody's equal: gay, straight, both, non binary, it's all fine with
me. Why would I judge? Why would I even care?

There are processes in place. It's not as if a guy goes to the doctor,
says "I'm really a girl" and a month later his dick has been
transplanted to his forehead.

That's the big question. Why do Daves and Garies feel so threatened by
this? Why do they feel the need to judge?

Perhaps that is why I mentioned it. Just like climate change and Covid,
we have to follow the ever changing science.

Nobody questioned that.

Actually, I don't really give a shit what happens in people's pants. I
was referring to the fact that a lot of homosexuals and transsexuals are
fucked up. The suffer higher rates of mental health issues. Some
organizations attribute that to discrimination. That may be another one
of those chicken and egg issues.

There is no doubt that some gender issues and behaviours are strongly
influence by social pressures and some are hereditary. While some gay
men may act in a masculine manner, some of them get carried away with
the feminine demeanor. If you want to dispute that you can check out
some drag shows. It's a world of its own stereotypes.

True, I've read articles from now adults, who as teenagers (or younger)
had parents who were pressured by doctors to allow "gender
reassignment/mutilation" surgery, who severely regretted it once they
grew up... oops, too late now.

You're nearly as thick as Sheldon.

Regardless of what politicians or the popular press says, science is a
system for understanding the universe. Our knowledge of the universe
changes, and that upsets some people who like everything to be simple.

If it makes you feel better, you can go back to phlogiston. Or you can
direct your ire where it belongs: politicians and reporters.

Perhaps. What do you suggest? Conversion therapy?

I've seen drag shows. I don't understand why they do that. I also
don't understand why women wear makeup and high heels.

That might depend on the methods they use to "conversion". They could
had least provide some counselling to help the person deal with their
sexuality and their confusion about it.

Some like to blame the patriarchy for making women fancy themselves to
be more attractive. There might be something to that, except that women
often dress up even more and use more makeup when they go out with the
girls.

Not threatening at all. Just don't parade it around and insist that it's
normal. They have the right to call it normal. Don't *I* have the equal
right to claim that it's not normal? Keep your sexual preferences private.
