A friend of mine makes wonderful confections. She gave me this little
triple-chocolate cake. (It's not much bigger than a large cupcake.) It
has a chocolate cake base then a layer of chocolate mousse topped with
white chocolate frosting, garnished with a little more chocolate.

Top view:

and the side:

It was a little messy getting it out of the small box she put it in.
The cake is very rich. A tiny sliver goes a long way. :)

Our son is moving back to his own house soon,
which has been empty during the renovations. He
*complained* that his mother bakes such good
things that he can't resist eating them, even though
he's trying to limit sugar for whatever his esoteric
*health* reasons.

Instead of eating dinner with us almost every evening,
he'll be coming over based on when we've planned to
cook one of his favorites. His house had more crickets,
silverfish, etc. than he was comfortable with, but my
extermination efforts have eliminated the bugs, so he
feels OK about moving back there.

Home baking seems like a lost art, but Betsy is really
into it. With Johnny being 20 minutes away, my in-laws
will benefit from what was formerly his share of the
cakes.

So they can't be called Johnny Cakes anymore.

Should be plenty left to send you. She said it was "not much bigger than
a large cupcake," yet she only ate a "tiny sliver" of it. lol

In other words, you would have wolfed the entire thing down rather than
savor it a little at a time over the course of a week? Perhaps this is
why I get the impression you are obese.

A cupcake, Jill. I would have eaten the entire thing or at least half.
I wouldn't "savor it a little at a time over the course of a week"

Hardly, but you do like to speculate then gossip. Carry on.

A large very rich cupcake. You might savor it in smaller portions if
was as rich tasting as this is. Or you'd scarf down half of it and then
have another snack in the middle of the night.
