This wasn't pricey, and it is intended for only one thing, thin slicing beef off of round roasts, or working with other tough cuts of beef. Then it gets hand washed, and put away. It'll be stropped regularly. I've got an old leather belt that the buckle broke on after about a dozen years, and I bought some jewelers' rouge, and I'll use that on my everyday knives too.

Today will be the first time trying out double boiler scrambled eggs.

I just have to go up to ALDI to get eggs. Sure, food in general has gotten more expensive, but eggs have gone up crazy much.

Eggs here in upstate NY have always been dirt cheap and are cheaper
now than ever, most stores sell a dozen large eggs for about $1.19. I
usually buy the 18 egg carton and that is typically a few pennies
less. Eggs here often go on sale and cost even less. Here there are
many very large chicken farms in the Northern Catskills. I often buy
the peewee eggs when on sale at 39 cents a dozen, two equal one large
egg, I don't mind the extra egg cracking. Egg shells go into our
compost bucket. We have a gallon stainless steel lidded bucket that
lives on our kitchen counter, when filled it gets dumped into one of
our two composters and is hosed out outside. Egg shells are good for
vegetable gardens. We have two composters that we've been using for
about twenty years now, they work very well. One is close to our back
door, the other is near our vegetable garden.
These were less than half the price when we bought them years ago.
Lasts and lasts: It's easy to lift it off the compost, rake out the
larger pieces and put them back to further compost.

Bucket: Perfect size.

Some attach a screen under the composter to keep rodents out but we
don't bother or it won't lift off. And where we live we don't concern
ourselves with squirrels and field mice, plus our ferrel cats deal
with the overage.
A composter must be directly on the soil or it won't work... placing
the composter on a deck or up off the ground defeats the purpose...
and rather than compost it will ferment and stink. A properly
functioning composter emits no foul odor, the odor emited is no
different from the pleasant aroma of a forest floor, smells like
'shrooms.

No kidding. My favorite 30-count tray of eggs cost $1.99 for many years.
6 months ago, it rose to $3.99
Yesterday, same store it was $6-something.

I ended up buying two 12 count cartons at a much better price.

It costs around 7 to 8 bucks for 18 eggs on this rock. I've gotten used to it but they're kind of screwy. The yolks just fall apart when I crack them. That's a little distressing because I like eggs over easy. That's the breaks.

I bet those bears must be using all that as punching bags if they can't get in.

I predict that composting will be trending.

Kroger jumbo eggs are $3.09 per dozen so that would make it $9.27 plus
tax for 36 eggs.

Walmart jumbo eggs are $2.68 per dozen so those would be $8.04 plus
tax for 36 eggs.

I sure as shoot wouldn't be buying eggs on your rock. Get'a scavenging

That's an interesting idea. There used to be a chicken that laid eggs outside our bedroom window. The resident manager put some bricks on the spot to discourage that kind of behavior. Maybe I should stick a little chicken hut in the spot to encourage that kind of behavior, and collect eggs. When the chicken lays some eggs they make quite a funny racket. Beats me why they do that.

I paid $1.86/doz. at ALDI yesterday, but they
were almost $3 everywhere else, if not over $3.

Joe Biden Is a Lawless Rogue Who Has Yet Again Violated His Oath of Office

Biden has repeatedly proven himself to be a rogue president contemptuous of his oath.

He has, on several occasions now, exceeded his powers by trying to make laws rather than enforce them — and he
has repeatedly done so even when he, his legal advisers, and/or the leaders of his party in the Congress acknowledge
that he has no power to do so.

He did not have the power to make national housing laws, yet he decreed that landlords could not evict deadbeat tenants.

He did not have the power to make national medical decisions, yet he ordered every workplace to mandate vaccinations.

He did not have the power to appropriate hundreds of billions of dollars to pay off college debts, but he did that, too.

The courts have struck down the first two of those flagrant violations of his oath, and only the search for a proper party
with standing to sue presents any real risk that they will not strike down the third.

Biden’s repeated and open violation of his oath of office, his constitutional obligations, and the constitutional limits on
his office would richly merit his impeachment and removal. As things stand, the only remedies we have for a president
who routinely rejects the rule of law are to take him to court and take the case for a restoration of the Constitution to the voters.

I meant to specify large, but was sloppy. I prefer
jumbo for lightly basted or over-easy/medium, and
whatever is cheapest per ounce for everything else,
which always means large at ALDI. ALDI has a new
thing. Breakfast sausage for $2.29 a 1# chub.

It'll be stropped regularly. I've got an old leather belt that the buckle broke on after about a dozen years, and I bought some jewelers' rouge, and I'll use that on my everyday knives too.

To be honest with you, referring to same-sex couples as 'lovers' creeps me out.

The debasement of it all--though it's supposed to be so chic, and opposing it so
homophobic--just leaves me awestruck at the power of delusion.
