Don't know about that ... the "west" HAS shown them
the way. Their problem is getting from here to there.
It takes very few totalitarians to scare the population
into submission. The more libertine may outnumber
them a thousand to one, but they won't dare ACT.
This is the historical pattern. To bow, prostrate and
suck authoritarian dick SEEMS the "safer" option.
It isn't of course, it just means continuing horrors,
but it SEEMS safer.
